Origin: U.S. – 1997
Lucky Cross was exactly what the name indicates: an accidental cross that occurred in Craig LeHoullier’s garden between a Brandywine and an experimental striped variety. The resulting tomatoes were pink with gold stripes and tasted deliciously like a Brandywine. The large one-pound fruits are slightly flattened and needless to say, have wonderful eye appeal. The interior flesh is bi-color swirls or yellow and pink. Little Lucky is a smaller version of Lucky Cross.
